C100 Strengthens its Programs with Deeper Silicon Valley Ties to Expertise, Mentoring, and Connectivity

Toronto, ON, and San Francisco, CA, May 14, 2024 – Applications open today for C100’s highly selective and in demand flagship programs that embolden early-stage founders and accelerate growth-stage company executives into global market leaders.

Established in 2009, C100 is a member-driven organization of passionate Canadian tech veterans with Silicon Valley roots, dedicated to supporting Canadian tech entrepreneurs in building and scaling globally impactful companies.

The newly launched C100 Growth Program is structured to help propel Canada’s most promising scale-stage technology companies into global market leaders. This 12-month initiative offers comprehensive support to selected companies through customized mentoring for leadership teams, role-based peer groups, in-person workshops, and access to a robust network of Silicon Valley-based service providers and funders.

The program is tailored to address the common challenges facing rapidly expanding Canadian tech businesses, including the scarcity of later-stage, risk-tolerant capital, a lack of experienced senior talent capable of navigating global markets, and insufficient personalized mentoring for CEOs and executives from seasoned industry veterans.

The C100 Fellows program empowers Canada’s most promising early-stage founders as they build category-defining companies. The high demand annual fellowship has run for 14 years and provides each cohort of high-potential entrepreneurs with unparalleled access to world-class mentorship and a risk-embracing community of like-minded builders.

The program features two immersive experiences in the Bay Area, called “48Hrs in the Valley''. The first 48Hrs is the program “kick-off” where Fellows are exposed to the Silicon Valley mindset and mentoring with C100’s veteran network of Bay Area tech entrepreneurs, operators, and investors. The newly-added second 48Hrs will fall at the midpoint of the fellowship, bringing the cohort back to the Bay Area for more learning, mentoring, and connecting with experts and members. This unprecedented programming is reinforced throughout the year by additional in-person and online gatherings featuring industry leaders and tech experts, designed to foster continuous support and engagement within the cohort.

The fellowship has catalyzed a transformative shift in the Canadian tech landscape since its inception in 2010. It has nurtured over 300 founders whose ventures, such as ApplyBoard, Jane App and Wealthsimple, are now at the forefront of innovation. In the last 14 years, C100's early-stage fellowship companies have collectively raised over $5 billion in venture funding and created over $15 billion in market value.

"Our new Growth Program will provide executive teams access to the vast, deep, global expertise of the C100 membership, offering them unique, critical insight and resources needed to navigate the significant transformational stages they face. No other organization can provide the unparalleled access to the vast knowledge and experience, across all company stages, of our veteran membership and their networks," said Michael Buhr, Charter Member and Executive Director of C100.
"Our Fellows Program, and unique 48Hrs events, have been a catalyst for significant change within the Canadian tech landscape for over a decade. The addition of a second 48Hrs allows us to dive deeper into the learning and mentoring that will empower founders with the insights, connections and Think Bigger inspiration they need to aspire to global leadership and societal impact."

These new/renewed programs now offer even deeper engagement with C100’s seasoned Silicon Valley experts, providing cohorts with rich exposure to different entrepreneurial approaches, mindsets, and execution strategies from both Silicon Valley and Canada. No other organization can provide this type of unparalleled access to the vast knowledge and experience, across all company stages, of the C100 membership.

Both the Fellows and Growth programs are a testament to C100’s commitment to its mission: helping Canadian and Canadian-based tech entrepreneurs build and scale impactful global businesses by connecting them with the expertise, networks, and resources of its globally-based veteran membership.

Applications for both programs open on May 14th, 2024. For additional information on the C100 Fellows and Growth Programs, including application details, visit this link.
