Feeling at “home” in SoMA

Walking into Oddjob, a speakeasy-style saloon in San Francisco’s SoMA neighborhood, one would think that they were in Montreal or Toronto with the presence of so many Canucks! So for the Canadians who attended the C100’s most recent Canadians In Tech monthly Meetup, thank you - you definitely made it feel like home.

“[The C100] event was well organized. Events are always defined by the people who attend them, and I love that I meet some of the best Canadians in the world right here in San Francisco,” said one attendee in a comment on Facebook.

Always meant to be a casual environment where local Canadians can network, discuss their work projects and startup ideas, or simply connect on a more personal level, these Meetups give expats living in the Bay Area a way to feel closer to home. C100 is a community and our Meetups allow visiting Canadians to connect with each other, as well as a way for any visiting founder to expand his or her network.

C100 would like to thank the management and staff at Oddjob for hosting this month’s event as well as local SoMA neighborhood restaurant Rocco’s Cafe for the delicious spread of appetizers and bites.

The next Canadians in Tech Meetup will be on Wednesday, April 8.

The Canadians in Tech Meetups are hosted on the 2nd Wednesday of every month in various locations around San Francisco. We invite all Canadians living in the Bay Area to join, as well as anyone visiting from Canada. Perhaps strangers when you walk in, you will no doubt leave with a new group of friends and people willing to open up their network to help you succeed.
