C100 connection: Katherine Hague, Co-Founder of ShopLocket, and Jaclyn Konzelmann, Head of Business Development at ShopLocket, participated in the C100's most recent 48 Hours in the Valley event this past June. Katherine credits their recent fundraising success and initial traction in large part to her frequent travel to the Valley. The connections she made in the Valley ultimately led to partnerships with Valley based companies, like Stripe, and led to the mixture of US and Canadian investors in the syndicate for their most recent round. Katherine describes her experience at 48 hours: "We were incredibly impressed not only by the quality of companies participating in the event, but also by the amazing network of mentors and investors the C100 was able to attract. The event really made us focus on the core metrics driving our business and helped give us the momentum we needed to close our seed round". Katherine feels that organizations like the C100 are necessary to foster global competitiveness in Canadian startups and is excited to attend the C100's Accelerate Toronto this fall.
Congratulations to the ShopLocket team!
